Earlier this month, Houston native Beyoncé decided to endorse Texas Democratic Senate candidate Beto O'Rourke. However, Bey unfairly caught heat for waiting until Election Day itself to let it be known she supports Beto. The politician told TMZ at Capitol Hill that he isn't on board with that criticism.

"Oh I am so grateful to her," he said before taking a picture with some eager supporters.

After the photo op, he continued his praises. "She's one of the great artists of our time, one of the best people to come out of Houston and Texas. I was grateful that she supported us—whenever it came, it was great."

O'Rourke narrowly lost to Republican Ted Cruz in the Senate race, receiving an impressive 48.3 percent of the vote against Cruz's 50.9 percent. Regardless of the results, he at least has Bey's support heading into 2020.
