The Biggest Style Drops at 2022 NBA All-Star Weekend in Cleveland

Released a week ahead of the NBA All-Star festivities, Salehe Bembury’s recent Canada Goose collaboration will also be available on the grounds in Cleveland. Fans will be able to check out the four-piece offering in person at a fishing shack installation modeled after a scene from the Play in the Open stop-motion animation that Bembury created for the project. It’s located on the lower level of the NBA Crossover event that is taking over the Cleveland Public Auditorium. For the capsule, Bembury’s design DNA has been fused with the Canadian brand’s signature outerwear, resulting in Expedition Parkas with shearling-lined hoods, fleece zip-ups covered in an all-over thumbprint graphic, and more.

Cleveland-based boutique Xhibition has a handful of exclusive products dropping in celebration of NBA All-Star Weekend. The first is a customization station with Champion that will allow customers to craft their own unique hoodies, sweatpants, T-shirts, and more with special edition embroidery options to commemorate the weekend. Xhibition has also partnered with Mitchell & Ness on a special capsule reimagining the uniforms of the 1997 NBA All-Star Game, the last time the event was hosted in Cleveland. Jerseys, mesh shorts, T-shirts, and headwear are all up for grabs bearing graphics that nod to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame that is stationed in the city. Along with the special drops, the shop is also hosting a retrospective exhibit at the Tower City Center centered around leather jacket designer Jeff Hamilton where some of his most iconic designs will be showcased.

Jeff Hamilton is going to have a big presence this weekend. Not only are his creations being honored by Xhibition and his latest jackets for the NBA’s 75 greatest players being revealed, he has also released a brand-new capsule with Mitchell & Ness. Inspired by the 1997 All-Star Game, the lineup includes a leather basketball jersey and shorts that mimic the Cleveland Cavaliers uniforms from the late ‘90s. A black T-shirt featuring a collage of some of Hamilton’s most iconic jackets rounds out the collaborative release.

Ohio native Darryl Brown is making sure his presence is felt at this weekend’s NBA All-Star festivities. The man behind his eponymous workwear label and Midwest Kids has a handful of collabs on the horizon. The first is a collaboration between Midwest Kids, Busch Light, and local pizza spot Cent’s featuring a co-branded long sleeve T-shirt, trucker cap, and pizza boxes. The second is a Midwest Kids x Mountain Dew collab, which will feature its own assortment of co-branded apparel ranging from hoodies to tote bags. Brown’s brand has also partnered with local shoe repair shop Concession Stand to operate a truck that will be riding around the city all weekend peddling hot chocolate to any event goers. Finally, Brown has used his Adidas partnership to shed light on the arena workers of Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse by outfitting them in exclusive apparel for a “Made Possible” lookbook. The employees will also be wearing the special threads throughout the weekend.

A new pop-up concept, Grandstand, will debut inside Tower City at the Xhibition pop-up this weekend. The stand will sell exclusive apparel and goods such as vintage sports magazines and toys, Bearbricks, a footwear collab with Padmore and Barnes, logo apparel, Scholastic T-shirts that have been worn in the tunnel in the past by LeBron, and more. While this is the first pop-up, Grandstand will continue to host its miniature marketplace at major events across the country in the future.

Round Two has collaborated with rising Los Angeles brand and favorite of many players in the NBA pregame tunnel, C’est Bon, for a special apparel drop. The release will include a french blue colorway of C’est Bon’s signature tactical pants, matching mesh shorts, and a mauve french terry sweatsuit with ‘90s-inspired mesh paneling. A white T-shirt featuring a multicolored “Together We Move the World” graphic rounds out the capsule. The products will be sold via each brand’s web store, as well as in person at the Cavs team shop at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.

Klarna will be hosting the All-Star Vault throughout the weekend in Cleveland Public Square. Along with displays of game-worn sneakers curated by Stadium Goods and sneaker collector Gerard Starkey, sneaker giveaways, and the chance to vote on Zach LaVine’s pregame tunnel outfit for Sunday, attendees can also look forward to exclusive merch designed by Sophia Chang. Beanies and T-shirts will both be available bearing NBA-inspired graphics. Change will also be on site to customize limited edition Klarna basketballs.

While there are plenty of brand activations taking place in Cleveland this weekend, some NBA fans may still just want something classic to celebrate the All-Star Game. The NBA is celebrating the 2022 HBCU Classic game taking place this weekend at Cleveland’s Wolstein Center between Morgan State and Howard University with a special apparel collection. Hoodies, shorts, and T-shirts to represent both teams are available. There is also a series of T-shirts and crewnecks featuring a Cleveland-themed logo to represent the annual game. The highlight is a varsity jacket covered in 2022 NBA All-Star and HBCU Classic patches.

Michelob ULTRA has decided to get nostalgic for its NBA All-Star activation. The beer brand will be hosting a special barcade pop-up, Boom Shaka Lakas, inspired by the classic arcade game NBA Jam. Along with the space, Michelob has also partnered with Cleveland’s Homage to create special NBA Jam-inspired merch. Home arcade machines, including one with a built-in mini fridge, will also be up for grabs for any die-hard fans.

Daniel Arsham has collaborated with Tiffany and Co. for a special Wilson basketball that will be available at the Cavaliers x StockX pop-up shop on The Tiffany Blue ball features panels etched with Arsham’s “A” logo and special Tiffany and Co. x Arsham Studio co-branding. It will come packaged in a special box.

They may not be quite as popular as the MLB team styles, but New Era still cooks up some solid headwear for NBA fans, too. For this year’s All-Star Game, there are a variety of fitteds, snapbacks, and beanies complete with official logos to commemorate the 2022 showcase. Along with Cavs-inspired wine and gold colorways, there are also some black and white options. In honor of the NBA’s 75th anniversary, there is also a collection of red, white, and black fitteds for a handful of teams that are complete with embroidered stars and the NBA 75 diamond logo.
