The two brands have delivered a closer look at the upcoming “KAWS XX” collection this week, showcasing some of the parkas in unique colors and sharing both logos across the pieces.
“I’ve always admired The North Face iconic silhouettes—I have had them in my winter rotation for years,” KAWS said of the collaboration. “The blocking, stitching, and details on their coats really lent themselves to the way I structure a painting, so I treated the garments in our collaborative collection like a blank canvas. And I enjoyed exploring their extensive color and material archive as I would a new paint set.”
This collection marks the first time KAWS and the North Face have worked together, and the unique DNA of the streetwear/art line is fused perfectly with the tech-focused outerwear brand. Standout pieces include the camo print puffer jackets with mismatched KAWS colors, fleeces, and parkas with unique color blocking.
The North Face dropped its second collaboration with Gucci last month, adding to the success of their last release, and KAWS delivered an impressive Halloween-themed collection back in October, working with Cactus Plant Flea Market and Infinite Archive to bring some spooky aesthetics to life.
This new collaboration between KAWS and the North Face looks to add another layer to two already storied fashion brands. Check out a closer look at the upcoming “KAWS XX” collection, due out Feb. 17, below.
