Claima’s recently launched Claim a Seat social impact initiative has linked with '47 for its latest release.

First, we have a new short film, available above, titled “No Cap.” As played out against a Portland nature backdrop, we see two caps engaging in a timely discussion about the issues at the core of the collaboration.

The hat itself, meanwhile, is available now for $45, with $5 from each purchase going to the All Hands Raised nonprofit in Oregon.

“Claim A Seat is a personal project for me and reflects not only my experience but the collective experience of Black and Brown creatives within corporate culture,” co-founder and podcast host Bimma Williams says of the importance of the initiative. “It is a reminder to ourselves that we are not alone and exposes the social construct built against our communities in an effort to not only bring awareness but solutions and resources that reset and reclaim the narrative. It is our hope that with the content, product and social impact model we can reimagine the future for the next generation of creatives of color.”

This month, Claima Stories welcomed James Beard Award-nominated chef and Garland owner Cheetie Kumar to the studio for a 35-minute discussion on merging music and food. See the full conversation below.
