Gosha Rubchinskiy has been putting Moscow streetwear on the map with his collections. His deep cultural analysis gives his designs an authentic feel, as if they were shot in a particular era and moment in time. The clothes and lookbook for the fall/winter 2014 collection is a prime example.
Gosha’s inspiration comes from ’80s New York City culture, all the way from the graffiti to the skate kids. In addition to staple streetwear items like, beanies, sweatpants, crewnecks, and hoodies, are pieces you may have only seen worn by your dad during his bboy days. Key items include multicolored fur coats, toasty leopard print fleece, shearling jackets, and a number of corduroy items. Looking at this lookbook alone will make you think these photos were pulled out of a Jamel Shabazz book.
