Style History: Kid Cudi

Kid Cudi's everywhere right now with a mixtape, a rock album, a movie, and of course, the second season of How to Make It In America. His recent return to Twitter also sparked some conversation but it's his 27th birthday this coming Sunday, January 30, that we'd now like to draw your attention to. We've done been aware of the appeal of one Scott Mescudi (he's been on the cover of Complex in 2009 and 2010), so we want to celebrate his life by checking out his Style History. Get out the cake and a jar of that white! Just kidding!

WHAT: Unknown
WHEN: 2007
THE GOOD: Wow, are those beepers and cigarettes on his hoodie? Kind of awesome. We're trying to have the same mindset we had in 2007 when all-over prints were hot.
THE BAD: Trends change. This is a lesson to all you hypebeasts out there to consider classic styles before you jump on the bandwagon. Present company included OBVIOUSLY. Ha.

WHAT: Highline Ballroom
WHEN: 2008
THE GOOD: We're feeling the bubble jacket. Good color (we love split pea soup), good collar, classic pattern. Shiny, but not too shiny like some OD Monclers. And you already know how we feel about trapper hats.
THE BAD: Nothing's bad if you consider how hot those dunks used to be back in 2008.

THE GOOD: We're always into nice leather. The hat is also pretty dope.
THE BAD: The hoodie looks comfortable, but it would be better without the self-promoting vinyl decals.

THE GOOD: Usually a laid-back look with a blazer thrown on top is totally a "bro in the '90s" look, but Cudi pulls it off with ease. Plus, how can you go wrong with a Ghostbusters shirt and some J's?
