David Obadia of Brooklyn We Go Hard fame comes right out the gate with a new collection he's calling Harmony. "Obadia" is hella close to "Ovadia," so I got confused there for a minute. But because I am the nerd of all nerds, I know that the Ovadia twins are Shimon and Ariel (didn't even have to Google that either) and this David fella is not even remotely related to them. Or maybe he's a long lost ancestor and his last name changed over time because of immigration and wars and stuff. Like, my name could be spelled "Schuyler" if I was Dutch, but, because I'm purebred Amurrican, it's not. Anyway, whether any of that actually happened, the BWGH founder, has a new line—whether that means he's left his original post at BWGH or BWGH is done or otherwise, we're not sure. What we are sure about is that Harmony hits on similar notes to BWGH and other French brands like AMI and A.P.C.: a little bit of color with a lot of neutrals, a knack for making simple basics look damn good, no heavy graphics, just clean lines and minimalist fashion. The collection will be online when the Harmony web shop launches closer to fall.
