Ever since New Balance’s Aimé Leon Dore collection launched last year, the 550’s have garnered a huge following thanks to its constant surprise collaborations and colourways.
In January 2021, size? unleashed its College pack, which featured its first collaborative 550 silhouette. The debut sneaker featured vibrant orange accents and crisp white leather panels, which were inspired by Ivy League styles.
Now, after teasing the collection with a series of leaked images, New Balance returns alongside the UK-based retailer for three new trail-inspired iterations of the 550 shoe.
Arriving in hues of “Brown”, “Grey” and “White” with accents of “Indigo” and “Forest Green”, each style features premium Cordura uppers, which aim to provide a sturdier feel compared to traditional leather and suede constructions. Cordura-branded tabs grace the lateral side of each sneaker, while distorted stripes also appear on the laces to mimic the details of actual hiking boots and shoes.
