The Norse Store, a retail platform that enables discerning consumers to buy future classics, has just announced its latest collaboration with orSlow.

Taking inspiration from the Japanese label’s iconic archive, the capsule features a slew of hardwearing pieces which have been designed to endure the test of time.

Established in 2005 by Ichiro Nakutsu, orSlow is designed and manufactured in Hyogo, Japan. With a strong focus on creating basic garments from quality custom fabrics, while taking cues from Nakutsu’s personal collection of vintage army and workwear, the brand has become renowned for its longevity and classic styling along with an uncompromising attitude towards comfort and fit.

Honing in on military-inspired uniformsthe capsule takes herringbone as its starting point to create an M-38 shirt jacket, in regular and slim fits, and a Vietnam-era utility shirt in reverse sateen. “To bring the original Herringbone fabric back to life, we needed a partner capable of dyeing and constructing the cloth to our specifications,” explains Norse Store buyer, Kevin Kafesu.

The capsule also features a slew of elevated essentials, including co-branded tees and tailored denim reminiscent of silhouettes in the late ‘50s and early ‘60s. Other standouts include a cargo shirt crafted from cotton ripstop and a sophisticated work trouser complete with an elasticated waistband, zippered fly, two angled hand pockets, two rear patch pockets and a single tool pocket.

“We turned to Orslow because we were impressed with their ability to produce high-quality reproductions of traditional fabrics,” adds Kafesu. “The fabric is constructed out of mercerized cotton, which means it holds up well over time. We also used 100% cotton thread that is colorfast so the garment patinas naturally and beautifully over time.”
