Continuing to explore the different elements from which a home is formed, MAXIME has followed up its previous “edition” with a Fall/Winter 2022 offering that celebrates the serenity, adaptability and warmth of wood.
Reflecting the London-based label’s attitude towards the values of comfort, the collection is showcased at the Sunken House—a contemporary, dark-stained cedar build designed by architect David Adjaye. Inspired by the wooden floors, furniture, dinnerware and decorative objects taken from the location’s natural surroundings, Carved serves as an ode to MAXIME’s simplistic, yet refined minimalist design.
Spanning boxy blazers, tailored trousers and outerwear styles, notable pieces this season include a custom pattern blouson depicting a multicoloured reclaimed floor, bottoms inspired by Venetian blinds an oversized parka and a structured shirt. Elsewhere, wildflowers—the forest’s natural inhabitants—are delicately embroidered on a warm padded vest. The knitwear this season is arguably an undisputed highlight, arriving with a cross-section of a tree within a relaxed fit and a matching oversized scarf.
