As part of its ongoing commitment to upholding traditional craftsmanship, Italian fashion house Bottega Veneta has introduced Accademia Labor et Ingenium, a new initiative that seeks to foster the next generation of artisanal talent.

Each year, 50 students will get the unique opportunity to split their time between Bottega’s atelier in Montebello Vicentino and a newly established area within its manufacturing site in Povolaro Dueville. The latter will serve as the brand’s educational hub, designed for students—who, upon completion of the course, are guaranteed a job at the luxury label—to collaborate with both seasoned artisans, newcomers, and external hires.

Encompassing a wide range workshops and courses, those lucky enough to attend will gain expertise in crafting bag prototypes and transforming them into production-ready designs, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the brand’s distinctive shapes and finishes. The program is set to provide invaluable insights into the workings of the luxury market, equipping pupils with essential transferable skills such as effective communication and relationship building.

Accademia Labor et Ingenium is a key strategic pillar to preserve Bottega Veneta’s unique savoir-faire,” said Leo Rongone, Bottega Venteta’s CEO, in a statement. “Exceptional craft and creativity are essential to our brand and to the heritage of our home region in Veneto. With the Accademia, we take the collective ethos at the heart of Bottega Veneta to a new level, building on our rich history of skill-sharing and innovation to nurture the artisans of the future.”
