Maharishi is here to lift spirits with the first look at their upcoming Fall/Winter 2019 collection titled “in Heaven, as it is on Earth.”.
Armed with an instantly recognisable, maharishi is characterised through its military-inspired design and Asian influence, offering the ever-evolving streetwear market wardrobe sensibilities with deeply set historical roots. Raised on staple pieces such as their 90s classic Snopants and heavily detailed Chinese-themed animal embroidery, there is a sense of tranquillity and spirituality that runs deep within the threads of maharishi, themes further developed for FW19.
Designed and developed as an exploration of the concepts of paradise and Heaven, and what it would mean to bring these ideas to Earth, the collection emphasises the areas in which maharishi has demonstrated a high level of skill. Sitting centre stage is a selection of velvet bombers, multi-pattern coats, tiger and dragon embroidered hoodies and pants, essential graphic tees, and kimonos. Outlined within the brand's mission statement is a commitment to sustainability, with these core values maintained through FW19 with the continued use of organic textiles and natural dye processes, as well as the inclusion of a new water-resistant and vegetable-dyed Japanese Nylon.
