Lately, the hashtag has been getting a lot of hate, from Justin Timberlake and Jimmy Fallon's parody of hashtags in real life to the uproar of statuses when Facebook incorporated them into their design. However, the hashtag is still being used in a very powerful, useful manner. It's the only thing that can really be used to search effectively on social media.
We used the popular, trending hashtag #twitpicyourart to find some of Twitter's artists who definitely want to be found. From painters to illustrators, photographers, and architects, every form of art is represented under this hashtag.
