It goes without saying that Drake dominated the media in September with the release of Nothing Was The Same. Not only did the cover art by artist Kadir Nelson blow up, generating tons of hilarious mock covers, but even his older album art received some love, too. Needless to say, Tumblr did not miss a thing, creating and reblogging the now iconic current and baby portraits of Drizzy.
In September, Tumblr also saw a mash-up of rap, art, and cartoons, with artists like Zhi-Yun Zhang re-envisioning our favorite rappers as cartoon characters and Carter Family Portraits showing up what Jay Z and Beyonce would look like in famous works of art.
