The New York Police Department was forced to shut down a pop-up shop for the popular clothing brand Denim Tears after a massive group of people waiting in line grew rowdy.

On Saturday, fans of Denim Tears lined up in front of the pop-up shop in SoHo to get their hands on some of the products, but at some point during the day, things got out of control, and police had to step in. Video footage from the pop-up shows droves of people waiting in front of the shop as they waited to go inside.

In one video, a mass group of people at the front of the shop moved left and right as a voice off-camera said, “N-ggas is fighting right there.” Another clip showed police arresting someone across the street from the pop-up shop as bystanders had their phones out, recording what was happening.

Denim Tears took to its Instagram page to announce the NYPD had shut down the pop-up shop and that products were still available on the online shop for those who missed out.

“NYC popup is canceled. No product will be available in person,” read the post. “COPS SHUT DOWN THE POPUP. Sorry to everyone that showed up! Online now.”

Hype for the Denim Tears pop-up shop had been brewing all week. The brand had been promoting its latest “Cotton Wreath” sweatsuit drop on Instagram and told its followers that the new gear would be available at two separate pop-ups in NYC and Los Angeles.

Denim Tears also claimed everyone who came to whichever pop-up would get a free sweatsuit which could’ve caused all the hysteria given how famous the brand is today.

“Anyone who pulls up tomorrow between 12-7pm (BOTH COAST) will get a sweatsuit, even if we run out of physical stock,” read the IG post. “You can put in an order for what you want and it will ship out next week, with that said please be civil (heard y’all maniacs are in line already) ITS JUST CLOTHING… LOVE Y’ALL.”
