Austin-based designer and typographer, Simon Walked, recently designed the logo for Gold Top Cider. The company’s mission is to “put cider back in it's true context as the Original Drink of America.” In order to do this design wise, the label had to evoke a 1920s/1930s feel – ultimately ending up somewhere between old style beer bottle and classic soda bottle. Gold Top Cider is setting out to change our minds about cider, showing us that cider can be complex, robust and not just for girls. [thedieline]
