Photographer J M Giordano created a series he calls American Sugar that is meant to highlight excess in the United States. He uses vibrant colors to discuss our glorification of sugar, sex, and insulin. The series has turned heads with images of syringes colored and arranged like the American flag, multicolor cakes slathered with icing, and a girl wearing dramatic faux-designer clothing. He makes a great argument in his photography, juxtaposing the dark side of excess with light neon hues.
