adidas Originals' collaboration with Nigo is one of the most highly anticipated in recent memory, and it seems that the wait is over as we finally get our first glimpse of the collection.

Billed as "re-interpreted pieces of apparel and footwear from the adidas archives," the collection sees classic pieces updated with details that are unmistakably Nigo. Much of Nigo's inspiration in his various endeavors is drawn from the areas of vintage wear, pop-art, street culture, and toys, so its no surprise we see injections of all of the above in the pieces.

adidas Originals has also released a new video where the Japanese style icon introduces the collection and gives a few behind the scenes details. Nigo shares that production of the collection was done in Japan, something that was important to him as a means to adhere to the "certain sensitivity to detail" that the Japanese are famous for.

He also reveals that the adidas head office in Japan is "ridiculously close" to his house, about 10 seconds away in fact, something that made collaborating easier and a circumstance that made the whole partnership seem like it was "meant to happen." Another interesting fact is that the "25" motif that we are seeing throughout the collection doesn't refer to a year, an anniversary or even a number: it's Nigo's name. In Japanese, "ni" is the number 2, and "go" the number 5, so "25" is in fact just another way to represent the man himself.

Check out the lookbook and accompanying video below.

The collection is seeing an early drop in select Asian markets right now, with the rest of the world to follow on Oct. 24., so it won't be long before you can get your hands on some of these dope pieces.
