Nicki Minaj released a short video that previews the upcoming collection that she developed in partnership with Kmart. The MC-turned-designer claims that she "definitely didn't want people to think, 'Oh well she's only going to have crazy stuff on her line,' because then that would push them away." But the preview showcases a few looks that are definitely borderline nutso.
Neon pink bustiers, safety orange down-filled motorcycle jackets, mashed-up animal print leggings, and insane captain's hats will make up part of the collection that Nicki designed for "women in general to feel beautiful and sexy, and any woman can wear it and feel confident."
Confidence will definitely be a pre-requisite for pulling some of these items off, but if Nicki truly pulls off a collection that provide comfort to "women whether they're slim or they're thick or they're whatever," then don't be surprised to see this stuff flooding the streets. As Nicki says, "Comfortable equals confident," and what looks more stylish than a confident woman?
