It's no secret that people who work in the fashion industry are a little off their collective rocker—or, to be 100 percent transparent, completely fucking nuts. It's a pretty sure bet that someone who works in the fashion industry, in a past era, would have been locked away in an asylum and treated for their "nervous conditions," whether it's scathing wickedness, an absurd creative vision, or simply outrageous behavior.

Don't get us wrong—a little bit/a lot of insanity is what makes the whole industry tick, and it wouldn't be as awesome as it is if it weren't for the crazies who make it all happen. However, there are definitely root causes to why fashion people are not known for having the most stable of personalities. We're not licensed medical professionals, but here are 10 Reasons Why Fashion People Are so Insane.

They think they are just as famous as the celebs they work with.

Delusions of grandeur have never been so...delusional.

They work long hours with small pay.

This would drive anyone nuts.

There's never any decent food at parties and events, so hanger rears its ugly head.

Hanger = hunger + anger, and it's not a pretty thing.

Their parents wanted them to be lawyers.

Mom and dad's palpable disappointment is pretty soul-crushing.

They only spend time with other fashion people, who only validate their absurd reality.

Being surrounded by enablers can't be healthy for unstable people.

They deal with things three to nine months in advance, so all sense of time is really fucked up.

Simultaneously viewing collections for Spring/Summer 2014 in the summer of 2013 while currently making plans with Autumn/Winter 2013 clothing that was seen six months ago and won't hit stores for another few months will throw anyone off. Plus, since when is resort a time of year?

Their priorities are all messed up. Spend energy and time on a loved one? Or cop new jawnz?

For most people, this is a pretty clear choice. Not the case for so-called fashion people...

Being surrounded by models heightens any and all insecurities about appearance.

It's like in high school when everone loved the kid who could do everything and was the standard of excellence, except there's a veritable army of them encircling you at all times.
