The campaign, titled "I Speak My Truth in #MyCalvins," aims to capture the essence of individuality and expression of the artists and models involved, with a call-to-action component that encourages others to do the same. Each of the CK partners, including Rocky, star in stylized videos telling their own stories.
"Growing up in New York City, I live life on the edge," the Testing artist narrates as the camera captures his stoic profile, lit up by a fire blazing behind him. "So when it comes to sex, it ain't no different than the streets. Keep that shit hot baby."
In a second campaign video, Rocky poses in front of a moving image projected onto a large cloth behind him. The video is dubbed with a energetic beat, which is quieted when he looks to the camera and says, "You ask my truth in two words, well that's easy: ASAP Rocky."
In recent years, the Harlem native has become a Calvin Klein figurehead, as he has partnered with the brand in various capacities, including the production of collaborative designs. More recently, the rapper was featured in the brand's Spring 2019 campaign, in which he donned a pair of archival jeans from the Calvin Klein catalog.
The series of videos were directed by Jonas Lindstroem, and the images featured were captured by iconic fashion photographer Mario Sorrenti. In addition to Rocky, other campaign stars include Bella Hadid, Billie Eilish, Kendall Jenner, Kevin Abstract, Shawn Mendes, Chika, Indya Moore, Noah Centineo, Troye Sivan, and Yoo Ah-In.
