SInce 2008, Cote & Ciel has been using its modern design aesthetic to revolutionize the silhouettes and shapes of everyday bags, transforming backpacks from casual carry-ons to iconic pieces in their own right. The newest crop of bags continues on this trend, designing with organic material in mind.

There's some variety in the brand's newest reveal. Starting with their Crypsis collection, Cote & Ciel have taken cues from nature to design a backpack, tote, and a take on its Isar rucksack. In particular, the unique and distorted pattern pulls from techniques that predators use to capture their prey in the wild.

The Kalix tote bag is inspired by naturally formed minerals—from fabric inspirations based on crystal formations within the Kalix river, all the way down to the bag's diamond shape. These features are finished with magnetic button closures and textured calf leather handles.

There's plenty to love from this brand and one of its most iconic styles, the Nile rucksack, is one of the more futuristic designs. The rucksack is built with contemporary architecture and rock formations in mind. In particular, the Basalt version is directly inspired by basalt rocks along the Nile River, leading to the use of water-repellent "Eco Yarn" in the construction of the body.

Cote & Ciel has been turning the modern backpack into a must-have investment. Head over to the shop to check out all of their latest luggage.
