A-COLD-WALL* continues to blur the line between fashion and art with its new installation, "Spatial Awareness." For his latest project, designer Samuel Ross sticks to the theme of his Fall/Winter 2015 collection by exploring the lives of the working class and its social inequality.
The visual elements of the installation that is set inside of the ANSH46, a boutique in Rotterdam in the Netherlands, aim to reveal the tensions and uncertainties experienced by people with low-wage jobs. A stack of office chairs represents "a restrictive dominance overshadowing personal well-being" as well as the constant unease experienced by the workers.
A distressed family sofa also occupies the center of the room as a literal interpretation of the everyday stress that disrupts the the opportunity for peace in the British household.
