There's no doubt in anyone's mind that this was one brutal winter. For most of us, this was our first introduction to whatever the hell a polar vortex is (a polar vortex is basically when it's cold as shit outside). But once you're done complaining about the weather, the only next logical step is to make sure you're dressed appropriately.

For the past five months, celebrities have been bringing out their best fur coats, either to stunt for the 'gram or to actually fight the cold (sometimes killing two birds with one stone). While we're obviously against animal cruelty, sometimes you just gotta admire the levels these celebs take it to. We've rounded up the best of the best from Rick Ross, Joe Namath, Kanye, and more in our gallery of The Best Celebrity Fur Coats of This Past Winter.

Juelz Santana

Even though Juelz once rhymed, "And that's not no chinchilla/That's a chopped up gorilla," we're hoping he stuck with the former in Harlem this winter.

Pharrell WIlliams

Wonder if Pharrell can fit his Vivienne Westwood hat under this insane hood?

French Montana

Anytime French Montana steps out in a fur is a great moment. Still though, every fur coat pales in comparison to when a wasted Jerry Springer interviewed him and Rick Ross.

Kanye West

Kanye definitely told PETA to their face that his mink was dragging on the floor.

DJ Khaled

Suffering from successfully battling Jack Frost.

Meek Mill

What's more complementary to a Bentley than a luxe fur?

Drake

Say what you want about Drake, but Canadians are tough as fuck. That's probably a bear fur.

Nelly

Even though he went kid-size, that fur still looks pretty serious.

Slowbucks

This coat is pretty much the physical manifestation of the word "flourish."

Diddy

Diddy is the reigning king of furs. The only time he wasn't on top was when Cam'ron had the whole city wearing pink.

Bow Wow

With the matching hat? Bow Wow with the wealthy 1920s baron swag.

Cam'ron

It's not pink, but matching floor-length furs are almost as dope.

Jadakiss

Numerous dead animals in this photograph.

Rick Ross

True bawse levels. The only thing that'd make this more lordly is if he was rocking this in the humid Miami heat.

Nelly and Jermaine Dupri

If wearing fur keeps you relevant then these two are onto something.

Drake

"I wear every single fur even fur even when I'm in the house." Also, camo couch.

Amar'e Stoudemire

Quite possibly the highlight of the Knicks' season.

Diddy

Diddy looking like Louis the XIV bear hunting in the French Alps and suffering from the fur-lourish.

Cam'ron

It's not pink, but matching cherry red furs with your girl is the next level love-stunt.

Kanye West

Very luxurious jacket, but not nearly as flashy as a lot of other furs on this list. A testament to Ye's understated but highly sophisticated style at the moment.

A$AP Rocky

The best part is Flacko spent all night partying it up with Rick Owens' wife Michèle Lamy and becoming best friends forever.

Rick Ross

Rick Ross has unusually warm arms, so he sometimes goes with the heavy fur vest instead of a full-on coat.

Joe Namath

King shit.
