Do you like New York City history and abandoned subway stations? Of course you do. That Underbelly Project thing looked pretty sick, and now there is another new gem available to the underground-curious. The closed City Hall stop at the end of the 6 line is like a mini-Grand Central Station that features tall tile arches, brass fixtures, and skylights—design elements that date back to the early 1900s. The tracks through this station have always been used as the turnaround point for the 6 train after its final Brooklyn Bridge stop, but until recently the conductors kicked everyone off before the train went down there. Now, if you have time, you can sit it out and go for a little ride through history. Nothing to do on Saturday? Get your Proposition 19 on and go check out this relic of a bygone era. [Jalopnik]
