Five years ago today, Drake dropped his So Far Gone mixtape—and nothing's been the same since. The Toronto rapper was already two mixtapes in by then, but none of them did what this EP did for his career. So Far Gone catapulted his career to the next level, paving the way for his eventual stardom.

Since 2009, he has a few more awards to his name—including a Grammy—a few more hits in his catalogue, and a ton of memes. Even his style has been through its own evolution. Throughout the years, he's gone through numerous phases, including a long reign as the king of sweaters. But, as with anyone figuring out his personal style, there were a few questionable things that Mr. OVO should've (probably) left alone. In case you forgot, here's a reminder. Athletic Gloves

Near the end of 2011 and into 2012, Drake started wearing athletic gloves with everything. It seemed like he was aiming to start a new trend, but one that (thankfully) never really caught on. It's still unclear what possessed him to wear the accessory.

Fake Jordans

This was early Drake, so he didn't exactly have millions to spend on sneakers. He also didn't have a deal with Jordan. Ergo the fake purple Vs. Still, though, bootleg Jordans?

Justin Bieber's Hoodie

Thank god he didn't have the side-swept hair, too.

This Train Conductor Hat

"All aboard!"

Clearly, a lapse of judgment here. Blame the alcohol. Chubbs is baffled, too.

Smedium Sweaters

It didn't matter that Drake won the award for Best Hip-Hop Video at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards, beating out Kanye West and Jay Z. Why? Because who can really concentrate when the dude is wearing a smedium sweater? And it was a V-neck.

Katy Perry followed him backstage and asked for her sweater back.

Canadian Tuxedo

Drake was going through a weird stage, one where he was still trying to figure out his style. For a minute, he was killing it in clean looks. Then one day, he stepped out in this Canadian tuxedo and looked like he rummaged through his old man's closet. That or Justin Timberlake's all denim look circa 2001 was his inspiration.
