This month saw a number of esteemed artists trekking far from home to exhibit their work. Over the past 28 days, we’ve seen creatives crossing national borders, spray cans and paintbrushes in hand, to deck the streets of less familiar cities. Askew, for example, left his home in remote New Zealand to paint a massive mural for Australia’s WonderWalls Festival, while the French Seth Globepainter hopped over to Italy to craft one of his signature faceless characters.
In the middle of the month, street artists from around the globe came far and wide to showcase their talents at the fifth edition of the POW! WOW! street art festival in Honolulu. While Norwegian stencilist Strøk used one of his photographs to recreate dancing shadows on a Hawaiian building’s facade, British artist D*FACE came to the island to depict a Lichtenstein-inspired illustration that serves as an ode to the local surf culture.
Other foreigners who participated in POW! WOW! were ROA, who hails from Belgium, Polish muralist Natalia Rak, and the Polish duo Etam Cru. We’ve handpicked the best street art to pop up around the world this month. Scroll below to check out our choices.
