Last month, we introduced a new format for meme recaps. Well, brace yourselves, because it's that time again. Anniversary of Tiananmen Square, Memes Surface After Related Search Terms Are Removed From Chinese sites

The events surrounding the student protests at Tiananmen Square 24 years ago have been virtually erased from China's historical record. The death toll is still unknown, and certain keywords involving that date have been blacked out on microblogging sites like Weibo. One of the most iconic photographs of all time is of a student standing in the middle of the street with military tanks approaching. To avoid censorship by posting that photo on the anniversary, Weibo users recreated it with memes.

To delay voting on a bill that would, among other things, ban abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy in the state of Texas, Senator Wendy Davis performed a filibuster for 11 hours straight. Even though this did not kill it forever, opponents of the bill applauded her efforts, and the Internet recognized her as a BAMF.

Blogger Clara Beyer came up with the idea to combine Taylor Swift lyrics with feminist ideas, spawning the Feminist Taylor Swift Twitter account. Three days later, a copycat account called Feminist Kanye was made. Both accounts have been featured on sites like Buzzfeed, Salon, and Mashable.

When the specifications for the Xbox One were released, the gaming world was pissed about some of the choices that Microsoft made, choices that would affect the way in which games were shared and whether or not gamers had to sustain an Internet connection the entire time. After seeing the backlash and knowing that they would have a harder time competing with Sony's PS4, Microsoft decided to rethink things. The turnaround sparked the nickname "Xbox 180."

The body was found on June 17, and fingers were pointed at Hernandez, but he remained a free man. When he was finally arrested, Hernandez was seen in cuffs with his arms behind his back under his shirt. Word to the wise: don't give the Internet ammunition when you're a suspect for any crime. As an extra precaution, delete those selfies where you're holding a gun in the mirror.

Another camera angle shows 2 Chainz trip and fall while one of the robbers catches up to him on the ground. 2 Chainz was very vocal about the incident on Twitter.

Former (future?) NFL wide receiver Chad Johnson appeared in court for an incident of domestic abuse. When asked by the judge if he was happy with his attorney's performance in getting him a plea deal, Johnson replied yes and spanked the attorney on the rear, causing the courtroom to burst into laughter. The judge was not amused and sentenced him to 30 days in jail which was later reduced to seven.
