Lil Uzi Vert is having a moment right now. No, he hasn’t finally blessed the people with his long-awaited album Eternal Atake or Mick Foley’d his way across the timeline by diving into the crowd at another show. The current focus on Uzi has nothing to do with music. Over the past few weeks, he’s been supplying his 9.1 million Instagram followers with thorough, and fire, fit pics.

These aren’t like the hoards of fit pics you probably see on your feed on any given day, flexing the latest Supreme drop. Full kits from Dior, Versace, and Prada have graced Uzi’s page recently, alongside pieces from Cactus Plant Flea Market, Bape, and Fear of God, putting an expansive wardrobe on full display.

Opinions of his fits—and of Uzi himself—will obviously vary, but it’s hard to hate on a guy just trying to enjoy his Cold Stone in Chanel, or showing up to his dentist’s office in vintage Bape, with a Murakami plush octopus keeping him company.

For each fit, Uzi provides a carousel of photos, without much concern for the perfect angle or lighting, to give the viewer a close-up of all his selections. It’s almost like an official product lookbook, but his gear was far from free. As his friend Amin Warren told GQ in May 2018, Uzi is “literally spending house money on clothes.”

Brands like Dior, Fear of God, Maison Margiela, and Richard Millie have confirmed to Complex that Uzi is a customer only. The lone example of Uzi being gifted some new threads, as far as we know, is the Chanel x Pharrell items Skateboard P gave him. His May 21 look was accompanied by a note from Pharrell himself that simply read, “Blessings, P.”

Yellow was his color of choice this time, as he paired bright Chanel sneakers, a giant yellow tote from Pharrell’s aforementioned Chanel collab, and, in a possible declaration of Beyhive membership, a Beyoncé tour merch hoodie from her headlining Coachella 2018 performance.

Perhaps the most impressive part of the entire phenomenon is that Uzi is a self-dressed rapper. His profile name reads “NO STYLIST,” echoing the words of French Montana and proclaiming his pride in his ability to piece together a solid outfit.

He posted one of his best to date on May 22. For this particular ensemble, Uzi showed a ton of love to Virgil Abloh by pairing items from not one but two of the brands Abloh currently designs for. Louis Vuitton shades, a sweater from LV’s Staples line layered with a monogram-covered polo, Off-White sneakers on feet, and a white Louis Vuitton Chalk Nano Bag were all on full display. He even repped legendary singer Sade by rocking a vintage cap from her 2001 Lovers Rock Tour. The best piece was easily his archive Undercover “Rebel Gods” bomber jacket from Spring/Summer 2005. The shot was taken on the tarmac before he hopped on the PJ.

With all that said, none of this comes as a surprise. Uzi has drawn the attention of the timeline with his style before. His gothic fit from the 2018 Grammys recalled the racks at Hot Topic. And back in 2017, he was roasted all over social media for rocking a women’s top from Faith Connexion. And those are just two of the many examples.

“I always had a vision for my style,” Uzi told GQ. “But before, I didn’t really get it. Even when I got money, my style wasn’t all the way there yet. But with traveling the world and seeing different stuff, I get it now.”

While these fit pics may be game-changing, Uzi knows what we all really want. So in case he’s reading this, drop Eternal Atake already. Please.
