John Elliott continues to pay homage to the birthplace of his eponymous brand.
For his Spring/Summer 2019 lookbook, the designer decided to showcase a side of Los Angeles that is often overlooked. Rather than focusing on the glamour of Hollywood or its beach culture, Elliot highlighted the parts of the city with which he was most familiar. The series of images was shot by Chadwick Tyler across 15 L.A. locations, including the Hollywood Forever Cemetery, the Hollywood Wax Museum, a gas station, a donut shop, and a car wash—all of which inspired key pieces within the Spring/Summer 2019 collection.
"I wanted to give my truth," Elliott wrote about this season's range. "When I think about LA, and back to the days when we started the brand, my time was spent driving around the outskirts of this city where our factories and knitting mills are. The unspoken neighborhoods that make this brand a reality."
Along with the men's and women's garments, the lookbook features footwear by Nike and Suicoke, as well as John Elliott's collaborative jewelry collection with M.A.R.S.
