London based imprint Own Fan Club are fusing iconic football kits with floral shirts just in time for summer.

The collection takes 90s football shirt iconography and numbers of the club legends that wore them and hand-print them over a correspondingly-coloured Hawaiian shirt.

Arsenal’s 1995/96 away ‘lightning bolt’ shirt was donned by Ian Wright, Chelsea’s 1995-97 jersey by Ruud Gullit, Liverpool 1989-91 ‘Candy’ kit sported by John Barnes, Man Utd’s 1992-94 ‘Newton Heath’ third strip remembered on the back of Eric Cantona, Juventus’ 1995/96 home kit famously donned by Del Piero and Borussia Dortmund’s 1995/96 away shirt worn by Mathias Sammer.

Own Fan Club meticulously selected the Hawaiian shirts based on how much they resonated with the pattern of the retro kits referenced. Each one combines iconic 90's insignia such as club crest, brand logo, and sponsor with a wavey floral short for an end product which gives off a proper poolside vibe as we approach a long summer of football.

Whilst the initial run of the shirt has sold out from the Own Fan Club web page, more will be made available at the ‘Own Marketplace’ pop-up shop next month.

Own’s ‘Football Marketplace’ takes place at The Hackney Shop, London from June 15-17, which will feature an exhibition and pop up shop featuring the best football merch from independent brands and creative football clubs.
