Two Canadian brands have come together to release one of the most anticipated athleisure collections of the year. Fitness and yoga wear purveyor lululemon has teamed up with Gaston-based men's boutique Roden Gray to release a seven-piece military-inspired capsule collection for men.
lululemon ups the ante with this limited-edition menswear collection that combines street style vibes with forward-thinking technical details like four-way stretch and sweat-wicking fabric and military features like webbing and stiff cotton drawcords.
“As an influential source for the ever-changing landscape of the fashion industry, Roden Gray brings an inimitable perspective that’s reflected in the military-inspired collection,” says Ben Stubbington, senior vice-president of men’s design at lululemon, “The lululemon x Roden Gray collaboration invokes our evolving approach to performance-driven apparel, merging fashion and function.”
The offering consists of seven different styles: a long-sleeve and short-sleeve tee made with a lightweight jersey fabric; a simple hoodie made with a naturally-breathable Tech Fleece fabric; and a jacket, pant and short made with durable, four-way stretch and water-repellent Swift fabric. A 3⁄4-length tight featuring a collage of reflective artwork on the back of the legs rounds out the stylish menswear collection.
Of course every piece in the capsule collection features custom black reflective "LXRG-9807" artwork, representing the Canadian collaboration and when each company was founded. lululemon was founded by Chip Wilson in Vancouver, British Columbia, back in 1998, while Rob Lo opened the doors to Vancouver's most discerning menswear retail establishment in 2007.
The lululemon x Roden Gray Collection will be available online and in select Lululemon stores as of Thursday February 8, 2018.
