Yesterday, after rumors of a return, HBO finally confirmed that Curb Your Enthusiasm will be back for a ninth season. Social assassin and comedian legend Larry David also addressed the news, saying in a statement: "In the immortal words of Julius Caesar, 'I left, I did nothing, I returned.'"
The return makes Curb Your Enthusiasm HBO's longest-running scripted series. The show focused on the vaguely autobiographical life of David, who also co-created Seinfeld. It was first broadcast in 2000, went on to win the Golden Globe for best comedy in 2002 and was nominated for seven Emmy Awards for outstanding comedy series, until finally the last episode aired in 2011.
There's no set date yet for the premiere of Curb Your Enthusiasm's ninth season, and the rest of the details are scarce—although we do have a proposal. So, in the mean time, start preparing yourself. If you haven't seen the show at all, cue up that HBO GO. If you're a fan, and nearly fainted when the news was announced, celebrate and cop some Larry David tees, 'cause why not?
