SHOWStudio has a new series exploring the history of various clothing items and the most recent installment is about one of our all-time favorite clothing items, the glorious hoodie. Gary Warnett, who is something of a sportswear/sneaker historian and a bit of a legend around these parts, drops the proverbial mic over the course of NEARLY 37 MINUTES as he waxes about the history of the garment and how it has evolved from a super thick, typically double-lined version that was made for athletes to keep warm on the sidelines in the 1920s and '30s into a fashion piece that we now basically can't live without. Interestingly enough, the hoodie design was never patented, which obviously allowed for a bunch of different companies to do their own renditions with the freedom that allowed it to evolve and change with the prevalent styles of the time.
