Hood by Air has set up an installation at Dover Street Market New York to showcase its Spring 2015 collection, reports Style.com The installation includes exclusive pieces made in collaboration with artist Kevin Amato, who HBA has worked with on capsule collections before.
The set-up is a literal cage made out of everyday items, like chain-link fences and a wire to hang the clothes on. "There is so much freedom within the ideas of the brand that when it’s time to interact within a space, you are actually caging that energy; it’s very literal," Hood by Air designer Shayne Oliver told Style.com.
Dover Street Market's already spectacular space influenced Oliver and Michael Muehlhausen, who helped design the installation, to go in the opposite direction and use ordinary materials. "Within a shopping experience that is so unfamiliar, it felt like a good way to communicate through the familiarity of the everyday," Oliver said.
Dover Street Market continues to nab collaborations with big name brands and labels. The retailer has hooked up with Undercover and Calvin Klein in recent months.
