It's the moment you've all been waiting for. The foundation that Four Pins is built upon. The moment when the most swagged out, dopest, fire clothing in the world comes together like Voltron to form one unstoppable ensemble: The Alphet.

The legendary tweet that launched a thousand blog posts had a somewhat auspicious beginning. Did French Montana purposefully misspell the word "outfit"? Was it a simple auto-correct error? Merely a general lack of spelling knowledge? Or is this man a true genius, inventing new, scientific terms for us to run with?

The coiner of said phrase, the lyrically proficient, HAHN Solo of the rap game, finally dishes on the origins of the phrase in a conversation with Complex's own Insanul Ahmed. Around the 5:10 mark in the video above, Ahmed asks French about the phenomenon that is the "alphet."

Straight from the horse's mouth, French claims that the misspelling of the word was deliberate and a term he workshopped with the one and only Max B, transposing the word "alpha" into "alphet." In the same vein as his other great linguistic triumph, "fanute," French found it in his heart to let it out for interpretation and shared it as just another piece of his extensive backlog of slang. Wow, what a fucking philanthropist.

As direct beneficiaries, all we can do is simply say thanks and use it as much as humanly possible.
