French Montana doesn't want to talk about Khloe Kardashian. Although the pair recently split (is love even real anymore?), when we had French swing by our offices a few weeks ago while they were still together, he was already exhausted and annoyed about fielding endless questions from media outlets about his famous girlfriend. But for better or worse, getting with Khole introduced the Bronx rapper to an audience who probably wouldn't have ever known him. It's typical of French though, throughout his career he's always been able to use his relationships—like his kinship with Max B and Rick Ross—to move his career forward.

Nowadays, French doesn't need his relationships as much. After releasing platinum hits like "Pop That," street anthems like "Ain't Worried About Nothin'," and popular mixtapes like Coke Boys 4, he's slowly morphed into a legit star who can hold his own. So when we got down with French for an episode of Fire Conversation, we promised to keep the Kardashians out of it. Instead we talked about all the other things he's got going on including his upcoming album Mac & Cheese 4, his pet monkey Julius Ceasor, and whether or not he'd ever get back into battle rapping.
