John Elliott's dreams of producing gear nearly everyone wants to get their hands on are coming true. By now, you're familiar with the man's eponymous brand and the way that it's evolving the luxury basics game. But what you might not know is just how far back his aspirations go. In a profile on the brand in Business of Fashion, Elliott reveals that, in 1991, he sent ideas and sneaker designs to Nike at the age of 8. Nike wrote back. Sadly, they rejected Elliott's submission.

Now that John's hit his creative stride and the brand is popping off, we wonder if digging up that letter for BoF's profile perhaps reawakened his interest in pursuing a collab with Nike. Imagine a pair of John Elliott designed kicks to rock with Escobar sweats and a snug Villain hoody? Cypher: complete.
