Artist collective CYRCLE. is known for creating incredible works of art that use imagery of classical sculpture in unique ways. They have left their mark on walls around the world, from Portugal to Shoreditch; have collaborated with talented individuals, including Woodkid and Vhils; and have shown in great spaces, including StolenSpace Gallery and Underdogs Gallery. For this year's "Cash, Cans, and Candy" street art project, CYRCLE. collaborated with Baltimore-based street artist Gaia on a mural that speaks to the art and architectural history of Vienna, Austria.

The mural was painted on Wesbanhof Station and features portraits of key architects and historically significant buildings. CYRCLE. explains the mural on their Facebook page with the following statement: "The piece features as its central focus the personification of the Danube and Inn River produced by Hugo Haerdlt for the Pallas Athen Fountain. The background is comprised of Jewish department stores matched with their current day renovations and the various redevelopments of the Stafa. Paired with some of these buildings are the portraits of modern architect Otto Wagner, Christian socialist politician and anti-Semite Karl Lueger, and neoclassical architect Theophil Hansen. The lone building of religious significance is the Leopoldstadt Synagogue positioned between the two figures."

The red-orange, white, and greyscale mural is similar to the one that CYRCLE. painted for this year's POW WOW Hawaii festival back in February. The male statue and the building in front of his body use the same halftone dot style as the Hawaii piece. The style is seen more often in graphic design, but the fact that the collective painted it in a mural this size is incredible.

Check out more shots of the mural above and head to both CYRCLE.'s and Gaia's websites for more amazing work.
