An artistic group called Pacific Face Painters is threatening to make ultrasounds a thing of the past. These inventive and playful painters have been adorning the protruding abdomens of pregnant women with fantastical imagery. Moms-to-be seem to enjoy the soothing paintbrush strokes on their bellies, and the final products offer an one-of-a-kind photo opportunity. The group, based in Santa Cruz, also provides face and body painting for non-pregnant people, and can be hired as entertainment for birthday parties, baby showers, and other social gatherings.
