Rihanna seems like a pretty adventurous person, but we would have never guessed that she would be brave enough to get a traditional Maori tattoo period, let alone one on her hand. New Zealand musician and Ri Ri's friend, Tiki Taane was present to assist Inia Taylor of Moko Ink in the tattoo process and posted the video below. Unlike the tattooing process that you may be used to, Moko Ink uses traditional chisels (uhi) and a mallet to pound the pigments into the skin. The hammering feels a lot different than a tattoo machine that moves at high speeds and punctures the skin. Rihanna takes it like a champ, but you can tell that she wants to scream.
