Brands and companies are finding more interesting ways to better utilize everyone's favorite photo and video-sharing, social networking service, Instagram. Case in point: Next Model Management in the UK, which is scouting both male and female models via the app. The agency sent out a post on Twitter, Instagram, and its blog asking aspiring models to send in their #selfies for a chance to sign with them, plus tickets to the SUNDOWN festival.

Next tweeted the message below just a few days ago, and a few more just like it last month.

The contest, is open to those between the ages of 18 and 25 and who are of the right height (usually at least 6' for men and 5'8 for women). Now, the idea is to send #selfies, but some have entered photos that appear to have been professionally shot, as if no one would notice. Anyway, there are already 2,959 entries, including mirror selfies...

If you're an aspiring model based in the UK, who has yet to be discovered at a mall or airport, and would like to enter the competition, all you have to do is snap a #selfie and send it to @nextmodelmgmt using the #NEXTFACEOFSUNDOWNUK hashtag. The deadline is Aug. 22.
