Photos that capture a hug or tender embrace are often softly lit, carefully placed, and let's face it, they're almost always a little cliché. But photographer Harry Griffin plays by no such rules, recently creating a series titled, "Fastener," where his subjects are quite literally fastened to one another in unusual yet intimate circumstances.

Griffin's previous work has been deeply inspired by old movies and their vintage aesthetic. While he often takes an unconventional approach, his photographs still appear very cinematic, and each evoke an unexpected story. According to Griffin, his work is "objectifying people and subjectifying objects." In his "Fastener" series particularly, Griffin uses the embrace of two people to create a singular subject.
