CASIS (the Center of Advancement of Science in Space) is an organization created by Congress that oversees the National Laboratory on the International Space Station. CASIS commissioned graphic designer Shepard Faireyto create a mission patch. The piece for ARK1 (Advancing Research Knowledge 1) reflects Fairey's iconic aesthetic as well as exciting structural elements indicative of space exploration.
