It’s been 80 years since the Grand Slam has seen a Japanese player reach the action in the quarterfinals. Kei Nishikori has done just that at this year’s Australian Open, rocking some sweat absorbing gear that Uniqlo will be releasing later this year.

In a sport that involves a lot of perspiration, Uniqlo is developing a limited run of tennis gear built to keep you dry. The new Dry-Ex fabric is light, breathable, and wicks moisture away, which is perfect when you’re running side to side volleying tennis balls back and forth against your opponent. The will only be available in Japan online on April 2 and it’s a new flagship store in Tokyo’s Ginza district March 16. [wwd]
