Scott Marr, an Australian artist, has an inventive way of dealing with discarded vinyl records. Using a hot poker, Marr makes burn marks to carve away at the old 78s, in a process he calls pyrography. In essence, Marr transforms the objects into something new, communicative through sight rather than sound. His desire is to form new bodies of information, hoping that the audience understands.
