We've heard of taking sand from a beach to keep as a souvenir, but boxing garbage from NYC's dirty city streets? Not so much. And yet, NYC Garbage has sold over 1300 trash cubes to people in 30 different countries using a Google map to keep track of each cube's location. The project's inspiration comes from an idea artist/entrepreneur Justin Gignac had about package design; he wanted to prove anyting could sell if it was packaged well. Each cube is filled with real garbage plucked from NY's dirty streets. To see more, check out the project's site. [Laughing Squid]
