UPDATED 4/2, 9:45 p.m. ET: Michael Rapaport has also expressed regret over his Kevin Durant beef.

On Friday night, the actor/comedian posted an Instagram video in which he addressed the highly publicized drama that resulted in a $50,000 fine for Durant. Rapaport said he feels “bad” about the situation and that it simply went too far.

“The situation of Durant has gotten out of hand ...” he said. “I met him as a fan … It was definitely cool. I haven’t seen him since, but he was definitely cool. I don’t consider him a friend. The way he was talkin’ to me is not like a person who is a friend. I don’t speak to friends like that. I don’t banter with friends, telling them, ‘Yo, when I see you, I’ma spit in your face’ … That’s not locker room talk. Those are threats that were made over and over and over. It’s been going on for months. And on Tuesday of this week, he caught me on a bad day.”

Rapaport went on to say he doesn’t “premeditate or contrive” his social media rants, as they “come from the gut”; however, he’s taking the situation as a life lesson.

“But you know, you live and learn …” he continued. “I had to deal with ramifications that I’ll keep to myself, and I know he has … It is what it is, and we have to move forward.”

UPDATED 4/2, 10:45 a.m. ET: ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported on Friday that KD will be fined a hefty $50K over his back-and-forth with Michael Rapaport.

“NBA is fining Kevin Durant $50,000 for social exchange with actor, sources tell ESPN,” per Woj.

On Thursday, Kevin Durant addressed the heated DM exchange he had with actor Michael Rapaport when speaking with reporters.

“I’m sorry that people seen that language I used, that’s not really what I want people to see and hear from me… but hopefully I can move past it and get back out on the floor,” Durant said when asked what his response was to the “social media messages that were made public.”

On Tuesday, Rapaport took to social media to share messages between himself and Durant, writing, “As most of you know, I receive threats and disgusting messages DAILY, but never in my wildest dreams did I think @easymoneysniper would be among them.”

He continued, “The 🐍  himself is now threatening me, bringing up my wife and wants to fight. This is supposed to be America’s sweetheart right? KD didn’t get ‘hacked’ either. Hold this L champ.”

The screenshotted messages showed Durant writing a range of homophobic and misogynistic insults towards Rapaport and bringing up his wife.

Durant later responded by claiming that he and Rapaport “talk CRAZIER than this on the regular.”

Rapaport then denied that they do and told Durant to never “threaten me again or speak on my Wife ever.”
