Washington Commanders RB Brian Robinson Jr. Shot in Alleged Attempted Robbery

Washington Commanders rookie running back Brian Robinson Jr. was reportedly shot several times during an attempted carjacking in Washington, D.C.

Washington Commanders rookie running back Brian Robinson Jr. was shot multiple times in a robbery attempt Sunday night, NBC Washington reports. Robinson Jr. was hospitalized, and is in stable condition, as his injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.

According to D.C. Police, the incident occurred after two suspects tried to steal the Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat which belonged to Robinson Jr. A scuffle ensued and gunshots were fired soon after.

Metro Police Department director of communications Dustin Sternbeck tells ESPN that the shooting happened just before 6 p.m., and when officers arrived at the scene, Robinson Jr. had sustained “a couple gunshot wounds to his lower extremities.” Sternbeck said a firearm was recovered a short distance from where the incident occurred.
