This was bound to happen. For years now, Hot Wheels has been steadily raking in the dough with its mild-to-wild 1:64 scale toy cars—but come this fall, the micro machines are getting a 21st century-style upgrade.
Just in time for the holidays, stores will stock the line’s new “Video Racers” which add a tiny camera to the front of the cars. Through a USB port, owners will be able to download up to 12 minutes of recorded spy play footage—or even cooler, you can just flip it over and watch on the mini-lcd screen on the car’s undercarriage. Sounds dope, but the questions is: are they worth $59.99 a pop?
